TNR stands for Trap-Neuter-Return 🐾
It’s a humane and effective way to manage community (feral/outdoor) cats.
Here’s how it works, in simple terms:
Trap – Cats are humanely trapped using safe box traps.
Neuter – They’re taken to a vet to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and usually ear-tipped (the small clipped ear shows they’ve already been fixed).
Return – The cats are returned to the area they came from, where caretakers continue to feed and monitor them.
Why TNR matters:
Prevents more kittens from being born
Reduces fighting, spraying, and yowling
Improves the cats’ health and lifespan
Keeps stable colonies instead of constant turnover
